There was this guy I used to watch on YouTube before “Book-Tok”/”Book-Tube” was popular called JesseTheReader. I would watch his videos for HOURS, mostly because they were incredibly entertaining but also because his shelves were so beautiful. I believe he still posts his fabulous videos with his fabulous shelves and I am extremely jealous that one person can own so many books.
I have a lot of issues with organization…meaning that I over-organize. I’m kind of like a hoarder and kind of like those people who post videos of them decluttering their room and they throw out one chapstick (which was the ONLY bit of “clutter” in said room). I organize when I’m stressed, when I’m happy, when I’m tired, etc. It’s really quite a problem when I think about it too much.
My organization “issue” is a story for another time, though. My proudest organizational accomplishment is, without a doubt, my bookshelves. When most of my reading consisted of stand-alones instead of series, I would organize my books by color. And then I would organize them by height. And then, if they were the same color AND the same height, I would organize them alphabetically. Like I said, I have problems. Now–thankfully, and to the relief of my family–I organize my bookshelves by series and vibes! Of course, I still make them gorgeous (I also collect lots of trinkets…).
Unfortunately for me, but fortunately for my bank account, I don’t have a huge shelf in my room or really anywhere in my house. That is a problem I will solve, trust me. For now, the shelves I have in my room are filled with decorations and new books that I have not read while the shelves in my living room are filled with all of the books I have read (and loved, because the ones I did not like at all are buried in “The Drawer Of Shame”…). I am so proud of my shelves, I feel like they have a lot of character and they look almost exactly how I want them to look! It’s full but it is organized, and I am happy!

I can’t wait to fill the blank spaces in my current shelf setup! I am thinking making an Emily Henry section (?) so if there are any other books by her that you recommend and don’t see here, PLEASE let me know! Like I said, I have B&N gift cards to use!
Thank you so much for reading! Much love, speak with you so soon!
